BlueStar Resort & Golf is made up of a team of distinguished professionals with diverse backgrounds representing all aspects of hospitality and tourism.

Tim Steckbeck, President

As the leader of BlueStar, Tim oversees all aspects of resort club operations, including programming, spa, fitness, food & beverage, golf, and Board relations. Tim is also responsible for establishing strategic direction for the teams in the field as well as the group in the Central Services office. Additionally, Tim works closely with the ever-growing landscape group and is the licensed contractor for the organization. Tim helped create BlueStar in 2005 after senior management roles at many of the most recognizable resorts in the world.

Nancy Campbell, Vice President, People Services

Nancy is responsible for supporting our nearly 1,500 team members across the country. Her team handles all aspects of HR, including payroll, benefits, training, and more. Nancy’s background in hospitality features 35 years of supporting hotels throughout North America, most recently with Westin. Nancy was recruited to BlueStar in 2017.

Kevin Jackson, Chief Financial Officer

Kevin has over 30 years of accounting, finance, and operations experience in the hospitality industry. Most recently, Kevin was Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting with a hotel-focused asset management and consulting company. Kevin has served as Chief Financial Officer of a Phoenix-based hotel management company; as Corporate Controller of a large privately held restaurant, hotel, and casino ownership company; and as Vice President of Finance at Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.

Steve Rosa, Vice President, Food & Beverage

Steve implements a disciplined approach to the highly volatile world of food & beverage. From concept development to menu engineering to service delivery standards to procurement to cost reporting, Steve dives deep to ensure that goals in guest satisfaction and financial performance are always met. Furthermore, his input on facility design has been of incredible value to clients, and has led to numerous discoveries of previously uncovered opportunities in existing operations as well.

Matt Anzalone, Vice President, Golf & Club Operations

Matt joins us from Invited (previously Club Corp), where he was most recently the company’s Vice President of Player Development. Prior to that, Matt had regional operational oversight for more than thirty clubs, and before that he was an on-site club leader right here in Scottsdale. In all of his roles over his dozen+ years with Invited, he proved capable of getting the best out of his respective teams. Our teams are well set up for success as Matt brings that same passion, dedication, and expertise to our group.

Todd Iacono, Vice President, Club Operations

Todd joins us with an extensive background in hospitality, spending time managing individual locations with Marriott and Starwood, as well as multi-property oversight with time as the COO of True North Studio’s hospitality division and as Met West Terra Hospitality’s Vice President of Operations. Todd’s exceptional leadership, drive for continual improvement, and desire to create exceptional and sustainable experiences will serve us well through oversight of a number of our existing Clubs and support to the pipeline of new Club openings as we grow our group.

Joel Reger, Vice President, Resort Operations

Joel is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he leads the team at Cabochon Club at Trilogy® Sunstone. In addition to that role, he also directly oversees BlueStar facilities in California, Washington, Nevada, and Idaho. Joel's passion for customer service and ability to provide exceptional resort experiences has been the hallmark of his career. Prior to joining BlueStar, Joel enjoyed a progression of leadership roles with exemplary hotel brands including Starwood's flagship 5-Star, 5-Diamond resort, The Phoenician.

Ben Keilholtz, Vice President

Ben is among the original team members at BlueStar, and his participation as part of the core leadership team has been fundamental in the success of the company. For many years, he led the group in the Scottsdale Central Services office which provides creative services, web & e-marketing support, strategic counsel, and copywriting services to the Clubs. These days, that group is under the guidance of Sara Rainey, and Ben focuses his time on BlueStar’s largest client, Trilogy by Shea Homes, along with special project work throughout the portfolio.

Sara Rainey, National Lifestyle Director

As the National Lifestyle Director for BlueStar Resort & Golf, Sara implements and oversees a vast array of local and national programs, all driven around the core principle of Enhancing our Members’ Lives. While each of our communities is uniquely different, our Members are all interested in making new friends and enjoying their life to the fullest. Also, as a member of the BlueStar marketing team, Sara works directly with our communities to support the Lifestyle Directors & Coordinators throughout the country, working tirelessly to accomplish this goal. Sara lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with her husband. Prior to joining the Central Services team at BlueStar, she spent eight years at BlueStar-managed Encanterra Country Club in San Tan Valley, Arizona.

Keri Birchby, Director of Retail

Keri oversees the buying process and merchandising of all retail outlets in our portfolio. She assists each property by negotiating terms, evaluating trends and buying habits, and assisting with on-site retail displays and pricing strategies. She also oversees the online Trilogy store, and since joining BlueStar in 2018, has grown retail revenue by 30%. Keri has 20+ years of retail experience.

Phil Johnston, Director of Landscape Operations

Phil brings 30+ years’ experience in the green industry. Early in his career, he was involved in the construction, start-up, and management of three golf courses at Sun City Grand and Anthem Country Club. Following his time with Del Webb, Phil served as General Manager and Regional Manager for a large golf management company in the Phoenix area. He is a Class A Member of the PGA of America, and is a Certified Sustainable Landscape Manager.

Kirk Kokoska, Senior Project Manager

As BlueStar’s Senior Project Manager, Kirk Kokoska oversees Schaffer’s Mill and also plays a critical role in our consulting work. Kirk is a 30+ year member of the PGA of America, and an example of a rare individual who can turn accomplishments at individual business units into a template for industry-wide success.
